In 1973, I worked at NBC News Los Angeles as an Editorial Assistant in the NBC Burbank Newsroom.
MY TIME AT NBC NEWS
Not only was I able to explore the live news and studio sound stages (filming NBC hit shows at the time, including Johnny Carson, Dean Martin and Flip Wilson shows) but also I learned so much about life working in the newsroom with the writers, producers, and some of the soon-to-be-considered greatest journalists and on-air personalities in the TV News business.
For some of the biggest news events of the time — the first Arab oil embargo of 1973 and then the 1974 Patty Hearst kidnapping — I worked alongside such local TV stars and future NBC Network TV News luminaries as:
Tom Brokaw Tom Snyder Bryant Gumbel Steve Friedman
